      The names and chapter/verse divisions were not part of the actually original writings, but were added later. Jesus warned his disciples to avoid using special religious titles explaining they were all brothers (and sisters) in the faith. So no, Matthew wouldn't have gone around saying "hello, my name is Saint Mathew but you can call me Saint Mat".
